For 68 years I have used, read and loved printed books. My bookcase at home attests to this. Being of a suspicious nature, I was sure Kindle for Android would be awkward to get used to and hard to read, but I decided to give it a try anyway.
I could not be happier with my decision. On my phone Oppo AX5 the text is clear and sharp. The amount of whitespace is just enough to make the books legible while maintaining an adequately compact format. Page controls are simple and intuitive, suggesting this is mature software and indeed Kindle has been around long enough to have learned a thing or two.
Having found the Kindle application so pleasing to use, I have already purchased numerous titles for download to my phone. I like the feel and smell of a printed book, but kindle for Android means I can carry around a respectable home library in my shirt pocket.
There is room for electronic and printed books in my domain, but a printed book has one advantage: it does not require a power supply! Altogether, I am very happy with my decision to try kindle for Android. I will cram my phone with titles until it is bulging and then use lack of space as an excuse to upgrade my phone.
Absolutely disgusting how garbage this app is. Offers no to trash text to speech. You buy a book but it's interface is garbage and doesnt allow you to view it in any other application? They really only care about money. This app is the most underdeveloped garbage. I'd buy the ebooks from anywhere else and not be restricted as to what applicaton I can read from. My eyes hurt if I read from the screen too long. This app doesnt let you read the book from other apps after you BUY IT?!
One person found this helpful. I love my Kindle for the ease of downloading books and for having something to read in my handbag without the bulk of a book. Having a lot of medical appointments, which always involve waiting in the reception area, my Kindle enables me to entertain myself while waiting with something to read.
For day patient appointments it gives me a selection of books in my library to choose from. Three stars because; it did not install correctly from Amazon; for technical books it could be improved by providing multi-coloured bookmarks to code different types of entry. I have had trouble with this app, so many times I have lost count causing me to have to uninstall and re-install it. When I try to access this app it shuts down my tablet. I have tried everything to fix the problem but so far nothing works. It is so easy even for someone like me who is not teach savvy.

I downloaded the Kindle for Android app on my son s android tablet because he loves reading. I also got Jules Verne's collection for him to read on the kindle app. Everytime he opens the kindle app it freezes and gives an error message that the app is amazon kindle app download.
